The FOCUS Support Centre is based in the heart of the Oncology Centre in Cheltenham General Hospital. As part of the NHS Trust, we work very closely with the clinical teams. We are a small friendly team who are here to support anyone visiting the oncology centre and anyone affected by cancer; patients, carers, family members and oncology centre staff. We love to see people who drop in either to talk through any concerns they may have or just for a chat and a cup of tea. In the FOCUS Support Centre we offer advice and support from a team of experienced professionals such as Cancer Support Specialists; Citizen’s Advice caseworkers who offer advice on benefits; solicitors and wig consultants. We offer a wide range of support including; cancer treatment information; one to one emotional support: help with money worries; referrals to internal and external services (psychology service, dieticians, occupational health, physiotherapy, diet and exercise); support for families and friends; car park treatment permits, bereavement advice; estate planning; advice regarding talking to children; advice on hair loss and scalp cooling; wig service referrals and wig prescriptions; and pharmaceutical prescription exemption forms. FOCUS offer free support as and when you need it. People are welcome to drop in anytime and we also have pre-booked appointments to help people starting out on treatment.
